Northern Pump has over a hundred years of experience building heavy duty gear pumps for a wide range of industries in challenging conditions and severe environments. Northern Pump specializes in manufacturing and custom building positive displacement gear pumps. Northern Heavy duty gear pumps are available in all shapes and sizes. The modular design allows for customization of a gear pump for specific applications. Northern Engineers oversee design, manufacture, and testing at their state of the art Wisconsin facility. Northern Pump is a subdivision of McNally Industries.

John Sandstrom – Operations Manager
John joined the Northern Pump team in Oct 2012 as Operations Manager. Prior to this, John worked at McNally Industries for nine years as Product Control Manager on the main shop floor. Previously, he worked in a variety of manufacturing positions, including CNC machinist, programmer, production scheduler and customer service manager. John earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Outside of work, John enjoys hunting, fishing, playing hockey, golf, and spending time at the lake with his wife and two daughters.

Dan

Daniel Panik – Principal Design & Applications Engineer
Daniel joined the Northern Pump team in September of 2013 as Principal Design and Applications Engineer. Prior to this, Daniel served 9 years doing research and development for the Department of Defense. He relocated to Wisconsin from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he started his career after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech. Daniel enjoys using his mechanical engineering skills in a manufacturing setting. His strong background in research and development is valuable for engineering new pump applications. Daniel also enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife snowmobiling, hunting, mountain biking, kayaking, and camping.

Cassie McKenzie – Sales and Marketing Representative
Cassie joined the Northern Pump team in June of 2010 as the Sales and Marketing Representative. Prior to Northern Pump, Cassie has served various roles in the manufacturing industry including; Inside Sales, Marketing and Web Analytics. She also worked in Accounts Payable and contract management at a Telecommunications construction contractor. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in Applied Mathematics and an Associates Degree from the Bemidji State University in Liberal Arts. Cassie enjoys spending time with her family, scrapbooking, gardening, hiking, running, and coaches’ volleyball and basketball.

Kanaan Christianson – Applications Engineer
In January 2024, Kanaan became a part of the Northern Pump team, taking on the role of Applications Engineer. Before joining Northern Pump, he pursued his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the College of Science and Engineering, St. Cloud State University. Kanaan is always eager to utilize his engineering and problem-solving skills. During his leisure time, he engages in active pursuits and enjoys working on projects that involve designing practical and recreational items for 3D printing.

Jamie Graves – Rocky Mountain Regional Sales Manager
Jamie joined the Northern Pump team in July of 2018. Jamie worked for over 8 years promoting positive displacement pumps for NOV in the municipal and industrial markets. Prior to this, he spent 15 years as a consultative salesman in the commercial construction industry. He earned a Sports Science degree from Cardiff University in the UK and taught in high school before moving to the USA. Jamie is married with 3 children and in his spare time enjoys rugby, golf, cricket and spending time with his family in the outdoors. Based in Denver, Jamie covers the Rocky Mountain Region, with additional responsibilities for Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Tom Dworsky – Gulf Coast Regional Sales Manager
Tom joined the Northern Pump team in February of 2024. Tom has worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for over 20 years. Primarily in the Permian Basin Region, he has spent the last 14 years in PVF distribution. He has held roles during that time in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and Regional Sales. Tom earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Marketing degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. Tom is married with 3 boys and his hobbies include fishing, golfing, and spending this at the lake house with his family.
